This commitment is enforceable.

If you voluntarily share information of this nature during a coaching session (for example, disclosing a health condition that affects your career situation), it will be treated with the same care and confidentiality as all other personal information and will not be used for any purpose beyond delivering your coaching.

Financial information — special note

The financial information collected by MSS's money coaching service (including income, debt, account details, and superannuation information) is commercially sensitive. While it does not fall within the legal definition of "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act, MSS treats it with the same level of care and applies equivalent protections. This information is never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
3.
How We Collect It

MSS collects personal information through the following channels:

  • Direct from you when you purchase a service, complete a booking via Calendly, fill in an intake or enquiry form, use a free or paid MSS digital tool, subscribe to our email list, attend a workshop, or contact us directly.
  • Through our digital tools including the Spending Snapshot, HECS Options Calculator, Interview Answer Builder, Money Map Pro, and First Home Scenario Runner, where you enter data to generate outputs.
  • Through our website via analytics tools that collect usage and behavioural data. This may include cookies. See Clause 9 for more detail.
  • Through third-party platforms we use, including Calendly (booking data), Stripe (payment transaction records), and Kit (formerly ConvertKit) (email marketing data).
  • Through social media if you interact with MSS on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or Facebook, those platforms may share interaction data with us in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Where it is reasonable and practicable, MSS will collect personal information directly from you rather than from a third party.

4.
Why We Collect It

MSS collects personal information only for purposes that are directly related to our functions and activities. The primary purposes are:

  • to deliver interview coaching and money coaching services to you
  • to personalise your coaching engagement based on your background, goals, and circumstances
  • to process payments and issue tax invoices
  • to schedule and manage Sessions via Calendly
  • to communicate with you about your booking, your coaching progress, and any changes to our services
  • to send you marketing communications where you have given consent (see Clause 7)
  • to improve our services, tools, and content
  • to comply with our legal obligations

MSS will not collect personal information that is not necessary for one or more of these purposes.

5.
How We Use It

5.1 Primary use

Personal information collected for a specific purpose will be used for that purpose. We will not use your information for a secondary purpose unless you have consented, or unless the secondary purpose is directly related to the primary purpose and you would reasonably expect us to use it in that way.

5.2 Testimonials and case studies

If you achieve a notable outcome through MSS coaching and we wish to use your story in marketing content, social media, or on our website, we will contact you separately to obtain your express written consent before doing so. You may decline at any time without affecting your relationship with MSS.

5.3 Cross-service referrals

MSS operates two complementary services. If you engage with one service and we believe the other may benefit you, we may mention it to you directly. We will not use your personal information collected in connection with one service to automatically enrol you in the other, or share it with the other side of the business beyond what is necessary for internal administration.

5.4 Aggregated and de-identified data

MSS may use aggregated, de-identified data (for example, the average confidence score shift across all interview coaching clients) for business analysis, content creation, and service improvement. This data cannot be used to identify any individual.

6.
Who We Share It With

MSS does not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following circumstances.

6.1 Service providers

We share personal information with third-party platforms that help us operate. Each provider is used only for the specific purpose listed and is subject to its own privacy obligations. When you interact directly with these platforms (for example, when booking via Calendly or paying via Stripe), those platforms collect information under their own privacy policies independently of MSS. Any privacy concerns relating to their collection practices should be directed to the relevant provider.

Stripe Payment processing Payment and transaction data. MSS does not store your card details. Stripe Privacy Policy
Calendly Session scheduling Name, email, and booking details. Calendly Privacy Policy
Kit (ConvertKit) Email marketing Name, email address, subscription status, and email interaction data. Kit Privacy Policy
Google Analytics (when enabled) Website analytics Usage and behavioural data. Google Privacy Policy. Analytics is not currently active and will be disclosed here when enabled.

6.2 Referral partners

MSS operates a referral network with licensed professionals including financial advisers, mortgage brokers, and accountants. The following applies to how we handle personal information in connection with referrals.

Referring you to a partner. If MSS recommends a referral partner to you, we will only do so with your knowledge. We will not share your personal information with a referral partner without your prior consent. Where you consent to us providing the referral partner with a summary of your situation (for example, to avoid you needing to repeat your financial position from scratch), we will share only the information you have agreed to and only what is reasonably necessary to facilitate the referral. Your consent may be given verbally or in writing. We will treat any verbal consent as confirmed by your proceeding with the referral.

Receiving information from a partner. Where a referral partner refers a person to MSS, that partner may share personal information about that person with us. We will handle any such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy from the point we receive it. If you were referred to MSS by a third party, you may contact us to understand what information we hold about you.

6.3 Legal requirements

MSS may disclose personal information where required or permitted by law, including to comply with a court order, legal process, or request from a regulatory authority.

6.4 Overseas disclosure

Some of our third-party service providers (including Stripe and Calendly) store or process data overseas, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

7.
Email Marketing and the Spam Act

7.1 Consent

MSS complies with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We will only send you commercial electronic messages (including email newsletters, promotional content, and course announcements) where you have given us express consent to do so.

Express consent means you have actively opted in by ticking a clearly labelled subscription checkbox on a form, tool, or sign-up page. MSS relies on express consent for all marketing communications. Pre-ticked boxes and implied or bundled consent do not meet our standard.

Transactional messages (such as booking confirmations, Order Confirmations, tax invoices, and direct responses to your enquiries) are not marketing communications and will be sent regardless of your marketing subscription status, as they are necessary to deliver the services you have requested.

7.2 What our emails may include

  • updates about our coaching services and programmes
  • educational content related to interview preparation and financial literacy
  • new tool releases, workshop announcements, and course launches
  • seasonal content relevant to your career or financial situation

7.3 Unsubscribing

Every marketing email we send will include a clearly visible and functional unsubscribe link. You may unsubscribe at any time. We will action all unsubscribe requests within 5 business days. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect transactional communications (such as booking confirmations and tax invoices), which we may still send as required.

7.4 Lead magnets and free tools

Where you provide your email address to access a free MSS resource or tool (such as the Interview Answer Builder, Spending Snapshot, or HECS Options Calculator), we will only add you to our marketing list where you have clearly consented to receive marketing communications at the point of sign-up. Accessing a free tool does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.

8.
Financial Information
This section applies specifically to information collected through MSS money coaching services, including the Financial Literacy Course, Implementation Coaching, and associated digital tools such as Money Map Pro and the First Home Scenario Runner.

8.1 What we collect and why

Money coaching requires us to work with detailed personal financial information, including your income, regular expenses, debts, account structures, superannuation details, savings goals, and property purchase plans. This information is collected solely for the purpose of delivering your coaching and building your personalised financial system. It is not used for any other purpose.

8.2 Not financial advice

MSS does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). All money coaching operates within the general financial education exemption. The financial information you share with us is used to provide structured financial education and implementation support, not personal financial advice. Where your circumstances require personal financial advice, MSS will refer you to a licensed professional.

8.3 Storage and access

Financial information shared during money coaching sessions is recorded in session notes held securely by MSS. Data entered into MSS digital tools (including Money Map Pro) is processed locally in your browser where possible and is not automatically transmitted to MSS servers. Where data is stored, it is held in accordance with Clause 9.

8.4 Referral partners

If MSS refers you to a licensed financial adviser, mortgage broker, or accountant, we will not share your financial information with that referral partner without your prior consent. Where you consent to us providing a brief summary of your financial situation to the referral partner, we will share only what you have agreed to and only what is reasonably necessary to facilitate the referral. See Section 6.2 for the full referral partner policy.

9.
How We Store and Protect It

9.1 Security measures

MSS takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These steps include:

  • use of reputable third-party platforms with their own security frameworks (Stripe, Calendly)
  • password protection and access controls on accounts holding client information
  • limiting access to personal information to those who need it to deliver the Services
  • using secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) for our website and tools

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, MSS cannot guarantee absolute security.

9.2 Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our content and to improve your experience. Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of some parts of our website or tools.

Where we use analytics tools, they may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is collected in aggregated or anonymised form and is not used to identify you personally. Each analytics provider we use is subject to its own privacy policy, details of which are available in Section 6.

9.3 Data breaches

If MSS becomes aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose information is affected, we will notify the affected individual(s) and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10.
How Long We Keep It

MSS retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. The following general retention periods apply.

Client records Retained for 7 years from the end of the coaching engagement, consistent with standard record-keeping obligations under Australian tax law.
Payment records Retained for 7 years in accordance with ATO requirements.
Session notes Retained for the duration of the coaching engagement plus 5 years, then securely deleted.
Email marketing data Retained while you remain subscribed. Deleted or anonymised within 30 days of an unsubscribe request, except where retention is required by law.
Tool-generated data Data entered into free tools is not permanently stored by MSS unless you save or export it. Saved data is retained until you delete it or request its removal.
Enquiry data Retained for 12 months from last contact if no coaching engagement results, then deleted.

When personal information is no longer required, MSS will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it securely.

11.
Your Rights

11.1 Access

You have the right to request access to the personal information MSS holds about you. We will respond to access requests within 30 days. In most cases we will provide access free of charge, though we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for requests that require significant time or resources to fulfil.

11.2 Correction

If you believe personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading, you may request that we correct it. We will action correction requests within 30 days.

11.3 Deletion

You may request that MSS delete your personal information. We will action deletion requests where we are not required by law to retain the information and where deletion does not affect our ability to meet any outstanding obligations to you. Deletion of your personal information will not affect any completed transactions or legal obligations already in place.

11.4 Withdrawal of consent

Where you have given consent for us to use your personal information (for example, for marketing emails or testimonials), you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before the withdrawal.
